Ice Cream Anyone?

I don't know why I buy toys for my children. When we get boxes, they become toys and the kids LOVE to play with them!

The Princess is now taking after her brothers. She got these boxes, took a pair of scissors, and made an ice cream stand. It was small, but she did it all on her own! She was so proud!

That was the best ice cream I have ever had!

I'm melting

Every January and February I talk about how much I hate the cold. And I do. I hate being cold, I hate coats and socks and boots and extra laundry. I swear I would rather be hot than cold.

And then July and August come and I remember that I hate the heat. I hate sweating and being cranky and dry lawns. We sleep with the windows open and a fan blowing on us all night long, so that is extra noise.

I have decided that I like spring and fall. I like warm days with the windows open and wearing shorts, and then the nights cooling off and having to put on a sweater.

So I guess I hate being cold, and I hate being hot. I just like being warm.

Working on Christmas break

The week between Christmas and New Years 2008 I had to work.  It sucked.  2007 wasn't bad because my hubby had to work too.  But now he is working as a teacher again, so he had the week off.  So I was the only one getting up and working. 
Little did I know how sweet my hubby would be.  He made the meals and got the kids to clean up and took such good care of me.  He kept asking me if I needed anything or wanted anything. 
Then my sisters called and invited my kids to spend the night.  All 4 of my kids.  With her 3 kids.  Along with my brothers 4 kids and my other brother's 5 kids.  And they ended up staying for 3 days and 2 nights.  Wow. 
So other than working, it was a nice week because I was so taken care of and loved.  It made the week bearable! 

Hi

So I stopped blogging so I could scrapbook, then the kiddos came home, so I stopped scrapbooking so I could do laundry. And more laundry. And more laundry. Then I stopped doing laundry so I could go back to work and do taxes. It's quarterly tax month. Yuck.

So the whole point of all this is that I forgot to come back to blogging. I haven't even written in my journal. It's been crazy. But I will do better...I hope. I won't make promises. :-) I will just do my best.

Absent

So 2 of my kids are with my sisters camping until Friday, and tomorrow my other 2 kids are going on Trek. So I will be alone with my hubby for almost 3 days! I am so excited! I was supposed to go on Trek, so I took the whole week off work. Well, now that I'm not going, I just didn't tell my boss and I am enjoying an entire week without work for the first time since June 2007. It is long overdue!

So what am I doing with all my free time?

SCRAPBOOKING!!!!!!!!

I am 4 years behind and I have plenty to do, and plenty of supplies. I am enjoying just being creative. I don't have much creativity, but having done accounting for the past 2 years, it has been building up inside me. I am loving it. I need to make time for it more. I have to have that balance in my life.

Anyway, please forgive my absence. I am so enjoying not working or blogging or doing anything this week! Whoo Hoo!
