I will be the first to admit that I don't have a testimony of visiting teaching. I don't enjoy going, and I don't particularly like them coming. I don't know why. I just don't.

But it is a calling that I have, and I have failed miserably at it.

I pledge to do better. To at least go, and then to go with a cheeful heart and attitude.

How do you feel about visiting teaching?

The video was cute!

Last month (august) I went without a partner and without appointments and it was a disaster!

But...I am trying and I was better this month (September)even though my partner has still been MIA I'm getting it, slowly but surely.

I have a strong testimony of Visiting Teaching for personal reasons, but also because I've seen what it can be. I know there is divine purpose in going and teaching. Whether it be for you or the one being taught, you're allowing the spirit to touch you that day.

I like Visiting Teaching, but sometimes I feel the ones who are visiting me (this was before groups) felt it was a burden and didn't want to be there. It is hectic to make the calls and set-up the appts. and I absolutely feel guilty if I don't do it, but I do enjoy the friendships I have made and my testimony has grown.

Well, quite honestly I agree with you. I shouldn't say that since it's my new calling, but I have lots to learn still. I can't say I ever really enjoyed it, but I have enjoyed the group opportunity more where it's not so one-on-one all the time. I've had bad ones that just come and talk about themselves and that gets old. It always seems like the month flies by before I get it done and then I feel guilty. I also don't like making appts, but I'm getting better.
Please let me know if you ever need a switch up in your VTing because somethings there are things we just don't know about.

I absolutely have a testimony of visiting teaching, probably because I had amazing visiting teachers when I was just 23 years old. They were older sisters, one was in her mid-80's. I loved them and they helped me so much! I've also had vters that brought wild kids who destroyed everything in our tiny duplex w/in 5 minutes of stepping in the door. Didn't look forward to those visits!
Most of the time, visiting teaching may not seem to help - but it's all worth it for those few moments that touch us and change our lives!

I have a testimony of visiting teaching, even though I haven't always been very good at it. I love group visiting teaching...That said, I would much rather visit teach than be visit taught. I know it is a divine program, though, when done correctly.
