TWENTY years ago I...
1. Had just moved from Idaho to Utah in the middle of my junior year.
2. Had left a boyfriend behind and was missing him terribly.
3. Was watching my mom fall apart every night because she was working crazy hours.
TEN years ago I...
1. Had just moved into our first house and was having fun decorating and making curtains.
2. Was scrapbooking and enjoying myself.
3. Was getting ready to graduate from college.
FIVE years ago I...
1. Was having fun playing with my new baby girl.
2. Was scrapbooking and enjoying being in our new house.
3. Had no idea that The Doctor was about to lose his job and change our entire lives forever.
THREE years ago I...
1. Was dealing with a husband who was not very fun to be around.
2. Had my first child in junior high.
3. Had no idea our car was about to break down and I would have to go back to work and my life would never be the same.
ONE year ago I...
1. Was working a lot and was miserable.
2. Was adjusting to The Doctor being happy because he had his degree and was working.
3. Hadn’t scrapbooked in 2 years.
So far THIS YEAR I have...
1. Been able to cut back on working a little bit.
2. Had a child start high school, another start junior high, and my baby started kindergarten.
3. Scrapbooked once.
TWO DAYS ago I...
1. Went to work.
2. Went to book group.
3. Tried to explain to The Doctor why I go to book group, even though we only talk about the book for 15 minutes (out of the 2 1/2 hours I was gone!) and I hadn’t even read it. He just doesn’t get it!
TODAY I…
1. Worked at home.
2. Did laundry.
3. Listed a bunch of stuff on eBay and Craig’s List.
TOMORROW I will...
1. Not have to work at all.
2. Take a nap.
3. Go on a date with my hubby.
In the NEXT YEAR I hope to...
1. Lose 40 pounds.
2. Quit working (big dream!)
3. Scrapbook again on a regular basis
EVERYDAY I...
1. Kiss my hubby.
2. Tell my kids (and my hubby) that I love them.
3. Thank my Heavenly Father for my hubby and my kids.

I have put my kids and husband first in so many things. Dental work, clothes, haircuts, etc. I have put myself on the back burner so many times.
My mom taught me that we need to take care of ourselves too. She always took care of herself with her hair and makeup done. She always looked nice. When she went out shopping, even just to the grocery store, she would change her shirt to a nicer shirt.
So where did I fall astray? At this very moment, I need to color my hair, I need a haircut, and my clothes...well, I need some nice shirts...not just the cheap ones I buy when they are on clearance.
I need to take of myself. I started this by going to the dentist last week and taking care of 2 crowns that I have needed for over 1 1/2 years.
I need to take care of me. And if I have to use the credit card, so be it.
Because I am important too.

So this is post #393. I am approaching 400. I feel old.
But I feel old in many other ways.
I feel old because I am married to a man who is 40. Forty! That just seems so old to me! But don't remind me of this when I turn 40 in 3 years. That would just be cruel.
I feel old because in my mind, I am only 19. But when I look in the mirror, some fat chick with wrinkles is staring back at me. Surely she is just dressed up for Halloween, but I know even costume makers would have a hard time creating that.
I feel old because I have a 16 year old son. He will be going on his mission in 3 years. I have less than 3 years to teach him how to iron, sew on a button, and cook more than just ramen or mac and cheese!
I feel old because I now have 2 teenagers. How did that happen?
I feel old because all my children are in school. For 3 glorious hours a day, I can do whatever I want (well, not really because I have to work). But I could do whatever I wanted. And no one would need me. There are some days that the house is too quiet. Not too often, but there are.
I feel old because I think a minivan is cool. I love my minivan! It has front and back heat controls, DVD player with wireless headphones, and even another power adapter in the back for charging Nintendo DS's while we are traveling! Yeah, I'm pathetic.
I feel old because I lose track of what I was saying. At least I don't drop off to sleep in the middle of a sentence yet.
I feel old becauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

4 Jobs I have had:
- Stay-at-Home-Mom. This was the hardest job, the most unappreciated, but the most rewarding.
- Accountant. If I have to work, my job is the absolute best.
- Cashier/Baker at cinnamon roll bakery. I am only now enjoying cinnamon rolls again after not working there for over 16 years.
- Cashier at pizza store that my parents owned. We ate so much pizza that it took me years to like it again!
- Somewhere in Time
- Beaches
- North Avenue Irregulars
- Princess Bride
- The Office
- Amazing Race
- Biggest Loser
- Survivor
- My boss
- My son
- My hubby
- My sisters
- Cardston, Alberta, Canada...I got to do baptisms for the dead in the temple there!
- Great Falls, MT. I lived there for 3 years. I could go the rest of my life and never go there again and be very happy.
- The temple in Las Vegas, NV. We got a tour while we were waiting for a session. It was cool.
- Disneyland. With my hubby's family. Before we were married. Not ideal!
- Peppermint Ice Cream
- Ribs and mashed potatoes from Texas Roadhouse.
- Homemade Chicken and Noodles
- Clam Chowder
- Paris, France
- Disneyland with my children
- The Caribbean with my husband
- Australia
The Idaho Falls Temple. Today is our 17th anniversary. We were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 19, 1992. I love this temple so much. Here are a few of the pictures I took on a recent trip to Idaho.
Happy Anniversary honey! I love you!

Type in your first name and then the word "needs" or "wants" in the search bar. It then tells you what you 'need' or 'want'.
Camille needs:...a duck to keep her company. (Really, I have 4 children. I don't need a duck.)Camille wants:
...issues addressed on the level of feelings.
...a more sophisticated understanding of what kinds of relations may hold across a string or words than it currently has. (Huh?)
...to be gentler and less of a perfectionist. (Now this one is true!)
...help for her family. (Don't we all!)
...dental emergency treatment. (I hope not!)
...some training on how to walk on a leash. (LOL)
...men. (No thanks, I got one!)
...everyone to answer the phone. (Not always. I don't mind leaving messages. It gets me off the hook.)
...Marks and Francs. (I am assuming this means money, and yes, I want some!)
...wants the evening to come. (Only if my hubby is going to be home!)
...to put God first. (True!)
...her fruit rollups! (Not so much.)
...to incorporate technology into her curriculum and classroom in a seamless fashion and make use of the ABEL model common place. (Huh?)
...to voyage. (Wouldn't that be nice!)
...Bill to "kill the boy...hehehe, kill the boy." (LMBO!)
What are your middle names?
The Doctor's is James and I don't have one. I hated that growing up. I was so excited to get married so I could use my maiden name as a middle name. Lame, I know.
How long have you been together?
17 years and 7 months.
How long did you know each other before you started dating?
About 1 1/2 months.
Who asked whom out?
I asked him out to the girls' choice formal in October 1991. I got sick during supper and spent the evening throwing up in the bathroom at the dance. We couldn't leave because he had been asked to give the closing prayer. I know, I know, he could have asked someone else to fill in, but that's not how he thought.
How old are each of you?
I am 36, and The Doctor turns 40 in 3 weeks.
Whose siblings do you see the most?
Mine. The Doctor's family all lives out of state except one, and my family all live here in the valley.
Which situation is hardest on you as a couple?
Money. We are a lot alike, so when we get stressed, we spend and use the credit cards. So then we get more in debt and that stresses us out more.
Did you go to the same school?
Um, the same colleges!
Are you from the same home town?
Nope. He is from small town Idaho, and I lived in 4 different cities in 9 different houses.
Who is smarter?
Wow. Nothing loaded about that question. When we were first married, I would have said I was, but I later learned that he didn't have good grades because school wasn't emphasized in his house. He is extremely smart in different ways than I am. I would say we are equals.
Who is the most sensitive?
Again, I would say we are both equal. He has a very tender heart and I love him for that.
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Texas Roadhouse and Applebee's.
Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
We went to Kansas City a few years ago for a drafting competition. His student took 2nd in the nation and we got a week's vacation without any kids! It was great.
Who has the craziest exes?
Neither. We haven't seen or heard from any since we got married.
Who has the worst temper?
Me. Definitely me.
Who does the cooking?
I do most, but he is amazing in the kitchen. He can get in the fridge and make a delicious meal with anything he finds in there.
Who is the neat-freak?
LMBO Definitely me!
Who is most stubborn?
I would have to say we are equal here as well.
Who hogs the bed?
We have a king-size bed, and so we pretty much stay to our own sides. I love it. Now, if you want to talk about hogging the blankets...
Who wakes up earlier?
He does on weekdays because he leaves for work at 6 a.m. I do on the weekends and I let him sleep in.
Where was your first date?
The girls' choice dance I mentioned earlier.
Who is more jealous?
Neither.
How long did it take to get serious?
Well, we were engaged 3 1/2 weeks after our first date, so it didn't take very long!
Who does the laundry?
Me. He's not allowed to touch it anymore because he keeps shrinking my shirts!
Who's better with the computer?
Again, I would say we are pretty equal.
Who usually drives when you're together?
He does. He just naturally gets in the drivers seat. Most of the time I like that, but sometimes I want to drive. All I have to do is say something and he will move and let me drive. He is sweet that way.

June 19, 1992 - Idaho Falls Temple
My wedding day. Oh my gosh, I was so young! I was 19, The Doctor was 23. My parents are next to me (Mom in purple, Dad next to her) and The Doctor's parents are next to him. The cute little girl in pink in front? Is now 27 and has 3 kids of her own. The cute girl hiding behind me in the black dress with white polka dots? Just turned 30 Saturday and is the best aunt ever to my kids!
I am amazed at how fast life goes by.

I hate wearing shoes. I hate them being enclosed and sweaty and wearing socks too. We don't wear shoes in our house (mainly so the carpet stays nice). I take my shoes off every chance I get. When I started working, I asked about the dress code and my boss said that she just asks that we wear our shoes when there is a client in the office. I knew I was in the right place!
However, because of this, my feet are dry and cracked and look like a road map. I occasionally use a pumice stone in the shower, but I forget most of the time.
Saturday was my sister's birthday (Happy Birthday Aprill!) and we (my mom, other sister, sil, and The Princess) took her to get pedicures. At first I wasn't going to get one, but they talked me into it.
Oh, I am so glad they did!
First of all, I sat down in the chair and put my feet in warm swirling water. Heaven! Then I discovered that the chair was a massage chair! Double heaven! I played around with the controls until I found the perfect one. So I was sitting there with warm feet, getting a massage, and of course, having the best conversations. Life doesn't get much better than that!
After my feet had soaked forever, the tech brought over a cheese slicer (that is what it looked like!) and proceeded to shave old dry skin off my feet. Gross! I was disgusted at how much was coming off! Then she used a pumice stone and smoothed it all off. And clipped and trimmed and filed and buffed. Then I soaked some more. Then she put stuff on my feet and rubbed it in. Then I soaked.
Finally she dried off my feet and proceeded to rub lotion in and massage my legs and feet. Oh, triple heaven! LOL Finally, she painted my toenails with the cutest shade of royal blue! I love them!
That is the best $20 I have spent in a long time! I have decided that I am going to get a pedicure on a regular basis.
The downside? I kept slipping in the shower on Sunday morning because I didn't have any traction! :)

What makes a person have good self esteem? Because I don't have it. I have lousy self esteem.
I am constantly putting myself down. I'm fat, I need a hair cut, my house isn't as clean as I want it, I not pretty enough, I have a zit, I'm eating too much, I'm a fat cow, etc. I say it in my head all the time.
I know that I shouldn't. But how do I stop? I can't look in the mirror and say, "I am beautiful." Because I will just laugh out loud. I don't believe it.
I want to be one of those women who can walk with their heads up and look people in the eye.
So how do I increase my self esteem? I don't know how.
But I am tired of hating myself.
Tired.
Okay, today we will finish the tour.

Again, I apologize that there is mess all over. I am in the middle of that project, remember? You can see my ancient hand-me-down laptop that works just fine because I only use it for printing my pictures. Yes, I print my own. I have a program where I can make them nearly any size I want, from 1" x 1" to full page. And if I goof up, I can reprint the picture. And someday, when they fade, I can print them again. The cubbies help me keep things organized. I also use containers in the cubbies to help. Behind the white binder, can you see those clear plastic holders? Those are all my eyelets and brads. They are inside the holders in little cases that look like TicTac containers. They work perfectly! You can buy them at Walm-Mart. My dad made the cute clock.

This is the other half of my desk. I keep the desktop calendar there to use for scratch paper, and to do stamping and such. When it gets too grungy, I just rip off the top sheet and I have a clean one underneath! More cubbies to hold more embellishments.

This is under my desk. Top drawer is pens and pencils. Second drawer is glue and tape. Third drawer is scissors and cutters. Fourth drawer are Sharpies. I have a slight addiction! Fifth drawer is my small Cropodile and punches. Bottom drawer is colored pencils and glitter glue. I also have a bunch of stuff under the desk.

Okay, the drawers in the front have all my paper scraps. I keep everything that might be big enough to use. They are organized by color. Behind those drawers are more drawers! LOL These hold more embellishments. The drawers on the bottom hold more practical things like batteries and flashlights. The top 3 drawers to the left hold more embellishments. The bottom 3 drawers hold my cards (I am in a monthly card exchange group with my Mom). They are organized in gallon Ziplock bags according to category (Christmas/Winter, Love, Thank You, etc.).

These are bookcases that I got at a garage sale for a steal! They hold lots of things. I will name off what I can see. Oh, I know...let's play I spy! I spy...sticker letters, stamp pads, stamps, glues, stamps, page protectors and binders, stamps, binders, paper and notebooks, paper, craft sticks (more commonly known as popsicle sticks and tongue depressors), binders, ribbon, tea lights, scotch tape refills, Wish Bear, ribbon, and more organizers. LOL A star on the forehead of the first person who can find it all! :)

On top of the bookcases, is my 12 x 12 paper. I love paper. I have a hard time resisting. But there is a lot of paper out there that makes me think, "Really?" The boxes on top are from a monthly scrapbook kit club that I used to belong to. I was in it for 7 months. And how many did I get done? Well, you count. On the left are more organizing bins. Starting at the top and going clockwise, you can see my sewing stuff, paints, hot glue guns and glue, school supplies, and a bin holding fabric for aprons that are needing to be sewed.

On the back of the door, is my ribbon. I love how I organized this. That is jute they are hanging from. It is so easy to see what I need. And easy to get to ones in the middle too. They just slide right off.

Finally, this is the closet. In here is vinyl, gift wrapping ribbon, house decorations, boxes, my scrapbooking totes, old backpacks, baby blankets for gifts, a playpen, my game box, and lots and lots of gift bags.

This is how I organize my ribbon in the closet. They are just loosely tied around a hanger. Easy to see, easy to get off. And yes, those are shirts that need to be ironed. I hate to iron. I have broken my pinky toe ironing. These get ironed about once a year. The Doctor thinks it's such a treat when they show up in his closet! LOL
You have to realize that all the stuff was not bought all at once. I shop the sales only. I don't think I bought anything in there at full price. I can't. I don't have that kind of money! And remember, I have been married for 16 years. It wasn't until 3 years ago that I got this room. I started with just one corner of our family room and taught the kids not to touch.
So that is my scrapbook room.

I have had several requests from people wanting to see my scrapbook room. So I have taken pictures and will take you on a tour. I will show you the room in general, then go section by section explaining how I organized it.

This is my room, looking in from the door. I realize now that I should have cleared off the desk, but I am in the middle of a project and that is the beauty of having a scrapbook room. I don't have to clean up the project when I need to go do something else. I can leave it and come back to it later.

The is the room, part 2.

This is the room, part 3.
Okay, now for the tour. We will start by the door and head left.

This wonderful chest of drawers holds...movies and CD's. Nothing to do with crafting, but it's the only place for it. I hate it there, because I could really use that space! The cubby's on top hold embellishments. All the CD cases you see are my pictures on CD. When I dump the pictures off my camera, I IMMEDIATELY back them up onto not one, but two CD's. So I have 3 copies of them at all times. When we moved here, my hard drive died and I lost 4 months of pictures, including the last day of school at the old school. I learned my lesson! Sitting on the floor are papers to be filed, and a gift for a special girl in our ward who is going through a really hard time right now.

These are file drawers. I have my 8.5 x 11 cardstock filed by color, all my stickers and patterned 8.5 x 11 paper filed by category (baby, animals, family, Halloween, etc.). I do scrapbook in 8.5 x 11 because it is cheaper. I buy just the simple white 3 ring binders from Office Max and then using paper, I embellish how I want. I also use the clear page protectors from Office Max. Much cheaper! Each person in the family also has a file. There I put their awards, school papers, scout patches, etc. Then when I scrapbook, I just go and grab their file and I can put the papers with the pictures.

My dad made these shelves. Aren't they cute? On the bottom shelf are all my journals. I have written in a journal, nearly daily, since I was 14. I love to go back and read them. The next shelf up has embellishments. The pink box has all my double sided tape refills. The middle shelf has my Cricut cartridges. Also The Doctor's and my diploma's. That is another project...to get them in cute frames. The other two shelves have embellishments and decorations.

Top shelf has my printer and extra ink and photo paper. Also some old dried up flowers that I really need to get rid of. I dried them and now I don't even remember when I got them. The middle shelf has my Cricut, my big Cropodile and my light table. The floor has my Sissix and my tools. Yes, MY tools. And the boys all got their own toolboxes and tools for Christmas so they better stay out of mine! You can also see the TV and DVD player to the left. I love to come in here and watch chick flicks while I scrapbook. I shut the door and no one cares that I am crying!
Okay, that's enough for today. We will finish the tour tomorrow!
Oh, I guess that's me! LOL I am now 36, and I am on the downhill slide to 40. Yuck. But I still love my birthday because I get presents!
My favorite present was my new monitor and chair last year so working from home would be easier. I had been sitting on a folding chair and my back would hurt all the time. This chair was a lifesaver, considering I now work about 10 hours from home. I have a wonderful husband!
So for your present to me today, tell about your favorite present you have gotten for your birthday and why it was so special.

So today while I was at work, we were listening to the radio. "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi came on, and I love Bon Jovi.
I commented to everyone that I thought Jon Bon Jovi was cute and the other two girls in the office laughed.
"He's old!" said one. "Isn't he, like, 70?" said the other?
What? Hello! He is only 46!
I asked them how old they were. 24 and 26 were their responses.
They asked how old I was. 35 was my response.
THEY LAUGHED!
sniff, sniff.

Just type your name in and see how popular it has been. I have always loved my name. It is femine, yet classic. Not trendy. I never had another Camille in any school class, or at church. I have never had to go by "Camille R."
Notice that at the peak, Camille was 315 per 1 million babies. When you type my husband's name, it peaked with over 11,000 per 1 million babies. And even today, it is over 2,000 per million.
Type your name in at the bottom and it will take you to the NameVoyager site. Have fun!
